Clinique cosmetics were developed when Estée Lauder read an in article about skin care. In the article, a dermatologist was questioned whether healthy skin could be created, or if it just occurred naturally. Impressed with the doctor’s inclination toward the former, Lauder hired the dermatologist to help develop a line of cosmetics that were beneficial to the skin.
Some of the beneficial features of Clinique cosmetics are:

• Extra-mild soap for sensitive skin
• Not tested on animals
• Offers alcohol-free clarifier, that doesn’t contain any potentially-harmful ingredients to the skinThe three step system, developed by Clinique cosmetics for healthy skin, has proven to be the company’s major selling point. The cleansing part usually involves soap to saturate and open the pores, while clarifying lotion is used to exfoliate the skin. Moisturizer is then added to keep the skin looking healthy.
